Using the latest AutoCAD and computer technology, Katco's experienced designers can provide accurate, professional drawings, hydraulic calculations and stock lists. Our designers have received cross training in all aspects of the sprinkler business. They understand the varied requirements of the installer, project manager, fire department, insurance company and fabrication shop. The end result is a sprinkler design that meets all the requirements of the authorities having jurisdiction and can be installed quickly and cost effectively.
Capabilities include:
Special hazards: high piled storage, plastics, foam and deluge systems, pre-action systems, EFSR systems and in rack sprinkles
Remodel/Retrofit: No existing building plans, no problem. Our designers are capable of producing accurate as build drawings. In addition we are experienced in resolving difficult piping problems common in retrofit projects.
Tenant Improvement: We have experience in all types and sizes of project. We would be happy to design your tenant improvement project.
New Construction: Of course we are capable of designing any type of new construction project, including residential, institutional, commercial and industrial.
Key Benefits:
Because of the extensive experience and training of our designers, compliance with the fire code is never a problem. We maintain a current library of all the national standards and codes. We require all our designers to remain current with changes in the fire codes as well as the latest technology.
Designers who have actually had to install work they have drawn understand most of the conflicts and problems encountered in the field. The result are sprinkler designs that will avoid most common problems and allow for a cost effective and hassle free installation.
Our designers not only understand the fire codes and their requirements, they understand the theory behind them. This allows us to design sprinkler systems that will work as they are intended to.
AutoCAD not only produces professional, easy to follow drawings, it assures accuracy in the sprinkler design. Using the architectural drawings as backgrounds, the sprinkler and piping layouts are laid out in absolute coordinates. This eliminates addition and subtraction errors common in hand drawn designs. If a sprinkler head is placed in the center of a ceiling tile or aligned with another ceiling element, as long as the building is built according to the architectural drawings, it will end up in the desired position in the field. In addition, HVAC ducts, plumbing, structural elements, etc. can be inserted into the drawing during the design phase to assure coordination with these elements, but then turned off in the final print to make the drawing easy to read.
Our detail library and other drawing elements not only look good, they provide all the information in a format that is easy to find and follow.
All riser details, pump rooms, standpipes, etc., are drawn to exact scale, including the fittings, valves and other devices. This will assure they will fit where they are intended to and that all parts may be ordered and fabricated in confidence.
